SOCAL AMPS MODEL KIT CLUB FUNDRAISER:
Our 3/9/24 live meeting will be our annual SOCAL AMPS MODEL KIT AUCTION CLUB FUNDRAISER.

This will be our ONLY club fundraiser this year, which makes your donations more important this year than in previous years.

We are looking for model hobby item donations from our members: model kits, aftermarket stuff, tools, materials, books, magazines, etc.
Although our club interest is mainly armor, we’ll accept any donations: aircraft, ships, automotive, sci-fi, etc.

Proceeds from the auction will be used to fund club activities: club contest awards (and we have a lot of them this year!), pizza and
soft drink meeting dinner breaks, dinners at our Brookhurst Hobby meetings, sponsoring local model contest awards, etc.

Please donate whatever you can to support OUR club.
Remember that one man’s model hobby trash can be another person’s model hobby treasure our just what they needed for a certain model project.

We assume all donated items auction are complete.
If any of your donated items are not complete please attach a note identifying it as an incomplete item so perspective buyers will be aware
of the status prior to bidding.

If you cannot make the meeting you can drop off your donations prior to the meeting our meeting location, the Frye Sign Co., or at Brookhurst
Hobbies.

Remember to bring cash and thank you for your continued support to our club.

AMPS News:
Oh my God!
Yes, it really happened!
We finally have some contact from the AMPS national organization, or at least from our west coast regional rep!
After all this time they actually want to communicate with us!
This must be really important, right?
Heavy disappointment.
Just an announcement on yearly AMPS officer elections, open voting by 3/15/24.
The west coast rep position isn’t even up for election this year but they do have a new guy running unopposed in the NW Region,
same as all the other regions.
Get out the vote! Renew your membership! Show your support of the national AMPS organization! Fight, Team, Fight!
Yada, yada, yada, snore, snore, snore……
I think I fell asleep.
Never mind. nothing to see here. Please move along.
Sorry to have wasted your time.

SoCal AMPS YEAR END PARTY Live Meeting, Saturday, 12/9/23

Hi, guys,
I’m sorry for the late meeting notice. I’ve had some computer problems over the last few days that just got fixed late Wednesday afternoon.
Just a reminder that the next SoCal AMPS Live Monthly Meeting is this Saturday, 12/9/23.
This is our big YEAR END PARTY live meeting.

Please note: Ugly Christmas sweaters are NOT encouraged but WILL be tolerated.
Sweater wearers assume all liability for verbal abuse suffered during the meeting.
SoCal AMPS Live Monthly Meeting:
Saturday
12/9/23
4:00 – 9:00  PM (or whenever)
Frye Sign Co.
12818 Nutwood St.
Garden Grove 92840-8312
714-537-0071
Located just a few blocks south of Brookhurst Hobbies, just east of Brookhurst St. and north of Garden Grove Blvd.,

Meeting Theme: Year End Party, Pot Luck Dinner, Gift Exchange, and Completed Models Raffle

Agenda:
(1) Local Hobby News and Updates
(2) 2024 Schedule
(3) Dinner Break-Pot Luck Dinner
(4) New Stuff
(5) Show & Tell
(6) What Are You Working On?
(7) Dessert Break
(8) Gift Exchange
(9) Built Models Raffle (remaining built models from the Olech collection previously donated to the club)
(8) Next Meetings

Please bring something for the potluck dinner.
We always get a lot of snacks and desserts (which is not a bad thing), so if you are undecided on what to bring think main course dishes
or side dishes.
Please bring something for the Gift Exchange.
Please bring one (or more) wrapped gift for the Gift Exchange.
The basic rule of thumb that we use for the Gift Exchange is that the gift you choose to give should be something that you would enjoy
receiving.
Some General Guidelines:
The gift should be something armor modeling related (model kit, tool. aftermarket, book, etc.)
It should be something as current as possible.
No really old or really bad kits.
No incomplete or started kit.
No gag gifts.
No “White Elephant” gifts.
If you don’t have anything that would satisfy these general guidelines, consider combining 2 or more lesser kits,
or combine a lesser kit with something else like a figure set or an aftermarket set.
Also, to avoid any hurt feelings regarding gift giving vs. gift receiving, at the end of the Gift Exchange we will vote on the
“Least Desirable Gift Received’.
The new owner of that gift will have the option of choosing either any of the remaining left over gifts or a Brookhurst Hobbies
gift certificate provided bySoCal AMPS.
Any remaining left over gifts (some guys generously bring more than one gift) will be auctioned off to the highest bidder with
the proceeds going to the club treasury.
Please note that participation in the Gift Exchange is STRICTLY VOLUNTARY and is done in the spirit of club camaraderie
and having fun.
You don’t have to participate in the Gift Exchange if you choose not to. Each year some guys don’t.
You can still come to the meeting and participate in all of the other meeting activities.

Brookhurst Hobbies Update;
Brookhurst Hobbies continues to add new items to their special sale table at the front of the store.
In addition, they continue to add new items (models, aftermarket, books, etc.) each week to the Karl Madcharo estate sale table
located in the back of the store.
Be sure to take some time to check out these good deals.
Also, watch for upcoming Special After Christmas Sales.
