Special Theme: Non-Armor Modeling Night
(1) Aircraft Modeling Demo: Rigging Biplanes (Joe Lomusio)
(2) Car Modeling Demo: Building Car Model and Painting Clear Coat Gloss Finishes (Derek Collins)
(3) Special Show and Tell: Non-Armor Modeling 
This is our annual Non-Armor Modeling Night.
We will have 2 special airplane and car modeling demonstrations.
We will also have a special Non-Armor Modeling Show and Tell session.
IN ADDITION TO YOUR REGULAR ARMOR SHOW AND TELL COMPLETED AND IN-PROCESS MODELS, we invite everyone to bring examples of their non-armor modeling activities : aircraft, cars, ships, sci-fi, trains, figures, dioramas, paper modeling , etc., to also share with everyone at the meeting.
Everyone Welcome:
As always, you don’t need to be a national AMPS or SoCal AMPS member to attend and there is no cost to buy, sell, trade or just attend the meeting.
Modelers of all ages and experience levels, wives, girlfriends and significant others are always welcome.
Just bring something armor modeling-related to share and participate in the meeting.
Standard Request: 
Since our meeting place, the Frye Sign Co., is an operating business with limited seating available, please bring any folding chairs that you may have so we can make sure that we have enough for a successful and comfortable meeting

Potluck and General Meeting at Brookhurst Hobbies
(1) Basic Armor Tactics presentation (Carlos C. & Luis C.)
(2) European Museums slideshow presentation (Pascal Z., Henry T. & Jim S.)
(3) Something of Interest Special Show and Tell (all)
(4) T-55 Group Build Display (all)
and if time permits:
(5) Jim Wechsler will demonstrate the techniques he used in replicating the 

US Department of Defense’s recently declassified special stealth camouflage scheme on his Stealth M117. If you went to the recent IPMS Nationals you know what we’re talking about. If you haven’t seen this model yet it really is something you have got to see to believe.
This is our second meeting of the year at Brookhurst Hobbies.
Usually we have a BBQ. Last year we went all out and served a complete steak dinner meal. That is hard to top, so this year we’re going in a different direction. We will be hosting a potluck and  Brookhurst Hobbies and SoCal AMPS will be providing the surprise Main Course, which we think you’ll enjoy, and the regular soft drinks and paper goods.
 
What we need for YOU to do is to bring, in addition to your regular in-process and completed models:
(1) Something for the potluck
(2) Something for the Something of Interest Special Show and Tell
(3) Your T55 models for a special T55 Group Build display at Brookhurst Hobbies
(4) Your winning models and trophies from the recent 2018 IPMS Nationals show
 
Also, please park behind the store so we don’t take up limited customer parking in the front of the store during our meeting.

Just a reminder that the next SoCal AMPS meeting, a Special 10 Year Anniversary Celebration, is Saturday, 6/16/18.
NOTE: The June meeting is scheduled for the third Saturday, 6/16/18, to avoid a conflict with the San Diego Model Expo Show on the second Saturday, 6/9/18.

This is one meeting you don’t want to miss.
The June meeting is the type of meeting that occurs only once every 10 years, our 10 year anniversary, and we intend to celebrate it in style.
SoCal AMPS will be providing all the good stuff listed above.
Our annual Anniversary Door Prize raffle will include ten $10 Brookhurst Hobbies gift certificates. 
Additionally, Tamiya USA and some other companies will be providing some really cool surprise donations that we intend to use as game and door prizes.
 
We also need your help by participating in the Special Show and Tell and the Special Photo Show and Tells.
For the Special Show and Tell simply bring in your oldest built model.
For the 3 Special Photo Show and Tells you can participate in one of three ways:
(1) Email me your photos AS SEPARATE ATTACHMENTS TO YOUR EMAIL and I’ll collect them in an electronic file and bring it to the meeting.
(2) Bring your electronic photos on a separate thumb drive or memory stick.
(3) Bring hard copy photos
 
And finally, please answer 2 questions via email or bring to the meeting:
(1) How far do you drive to attend our meetings?
(2) How many models kits do you have in your kit stash? 
This number should include only the number of unbuilt full model kits that you have; no conversion kits or after market parts sets.
