Reposting John’s message

Hi, guys,
Just a short update on the status of the new SoCal AMPS Zoom Virtual Online meetings and a reminder to Save the Date for our upcoming online meetings.
I apologize being late in sending this out, it should have been out last Monday or Tuesday.

The first SoCal AMPS Zoom Virtual Online meeting was held on Saturday,4/11/20, and was a resounding success.
Thank you to Konrad and Lori Schreier for hosting the meeting.
28 guys were in attendance including Jake Holshuh on vacation in Arizona, Carlos Cisneros, who recently moved to Phoenix, AZ, and Joe Bevans in Brazil.
Only one guy suffered technical audio problems and one other guy couldn’t connect due to computer problems on his end.
The meeting lasted a little longer than planned going about two and half hours.
The majority of the meeting was spent on member’s Show and Tell where each of the guys were able to share how they were doing, their new purchases, what they have been reading and what they were modeling.
It was a good way to stay connected with fellow modelers.
Everyone enjoyed the meeting and all wanted to make them more frequent.

A few things were decided at the meeting:

Since the Stay in Place order is in effect at least through 5/15/20, our May SoCal AMPS meeting will be a Zoom online meeting.

We will increase the frequency of our SoCal AMPS Zoom online meetings to twice a month during April and May.
The second meeting will take place on the 4th Saturday of the month.

The standard Zoom meeting times are changed to 7:00 – 9:00 PM.

We will be holding a special Zoom online 4 Hour Build Contest on Saturday, 5/2/20, from 11:0 AM to 4:00 PM.
Brookhurst Hobby credits of $25, $15 and $10, provided by SoCal AMPS, will be awarded to our first 3 place contest winners.
Winners will be selected by a vote of the participants.

As an incentives to attend our Zoom meetings:
Each meeting will have a door prize drawing.
The winner will receive a $25 Brookhurst Hobby matching credit provided by SoCal AMPS.

Additionally, Brookhurst Hobbies will be providing a special, limited time offer at each meeting. This offer will be limited only to those who attend the meeting.

PLEASE SAVE THE DATES:
So, here’s our schedule for the months of April and May:
Saturday 4/25/20 7:00 – 9:00 PM SoCal AMPS Zoom Online Update Meeting
